What is the Worldview Cube?
The Worldview Cube expands traditional 2D ideological mapping into a comprehensive 3D model by adding a spiritual dimension. Your beliefs across these three axes intersect to reveal a holistic, multidimensional ideology.
The Three Axes
Left: Emphasizes equality, collective welfare, and government intervention.
Right: Emphasizes individualism, free markets, and minimal government.
Libertarian: Values personal freedom, civil liberties, and decentralization.
Authoritarian: Favors order, hierarchy, tradition, and centralized authority.
Materialist: Relies on science, empiricism, and physical explanations.
Transcendent: Values spirituality, religion, and metaphysical perspectives.
Your responses to centrist statements measure openness to moderation. Strong convictions across all beliefs amplify your position outward.
How It Works
You'll answer 36 carefully-crafted questions on a 5-point scale (Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree). Your responses are scored across the three axes, adjusted for moderation, and amplified by extremism to place you at a precise position within the cube. You'll see your result alongside 30 famous historical and contemporary thinkers, and discover which of the 8 "octants" your worldview occupies.
Why It Matters
- More nuanced than 2D tests: Adds the spiritual dimension often missing from ideological assessments.
- Self-reflection: Understand your beliefs across multiple dimensions, not just politics.
- Unbiased: Designed neutrally; no axis is "good" or "bad."
- Interactive visualization: See your position in a 3D space with context from history's most influential minds.
- Shareable: Compare with friends, track changes over time.
Note: This is a self-assessment tool for exploration and discussion. Results are simplified approximations of complex ideologies. Real-world beliefs are far more nuanced!
